Our Mission:
To build the capacity of schools and communities to provide learning environments that create a network of academic and personal supports for all students, enabling them to become successful, contributing, and compassionate adults.

The Capital Region Student Support Services Center (SSSC) serves school districts of the Capital Region and North Country, providing technical assistance, professional development and other services related to fostering a healthy school environment, thereby contributing to the success of students.

Activities and programs of the SSSC are as follows:

  • Align with educational reform initiatives, i.e. New York State Learning Standards;
  • Promote school leadership at all levels;
  • Set high expectations and standards for all students;
  • Encourage partnerships between schools, parents and community resources;
  • Measure and report results of program activities.

Click here for more information on our services and initiatives.

Target Population: The center provides its services to schools and communities who work with young people in grades pre-K through 12.

Service Area: School districts of the Capital Region BOCES, Hamilton Fulton Montgomery BOCES, Questar III BOCES, WSWHE BOCES, CEWW BOCES, St-Lawrence-Lewis BOCES, and Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES regions with a strong emphasis on the high need/priority school districts as designated by the New York State Education Department.

We are one of six regional centers in addition to 3 statewide centers that make up the Student Support Services Network, which is grant-funded through the Student Support Services Team of the New York State Education Department.
