Our
Mission:
To build
the capacity of schools and communities to provide learning
environments that create a network of academic and personal
supports for all students,
enabling them to become successful, contributing, and
compassionate adults.
The
Capital Region Student Support Services Center (SSSC) serves
school districts of the Capital Region and
North Country, providing technical assistance, professional
development and other services related to fostering a healthy
school environment, thereby contributing to the success of
students.
Activities and programs of the
SSSC are as follows:
- Align with educational reform initiatives, i.e. New York State Learning Standards;
- Promote school leadership at all levels;
- Set high expectations and standards for all students;
- Encourage partnerships between schools, parents and community resources;
- Measure and report results of program activities.

Target Population: The center provides its services to
schools and communities who work with young people in grades pre-K through
12.
Service Area: School districts of the Capital Region BOCES, Hamilton Fulton Montgomery
BOCES, Questar III BOCES, WSWHE
BOCES, CEWW BOCES, St-Lawrence-Lewis BOCES, and Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES
regions with a strong emphasis on the high need/priority school
districts as designated by the New York State Education Department. We
are one of six regional centers in addition to 3 statewide centers that
make up the Student
Support Services Network, which is grant-funded through
the Student
Support Services Team of the New York State Education
