Preparing for a new school year can be both exciting and stressful for children.  Whether starting first grade or high school, a new school year means new experiences, relationships, responsibilities, and concerns.  Among those concerns are bullying, smoking, and underage drinking.  The back-to-school season is the perfect time to address concerns about substance abuse and mental health issues with children, teens, and adolescents.  ASMHSA and the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) have tools that will help you keep kids mentally healthy and drug free. Available resources include publications, interactive training guides, fact sheets, outreach tools, and materials from ONDCP's award-winning Above the Influence campaign.
