Project S.A.V.E. (Safe Schools Against Violence in Education) is legislation that was passed by Governor Pataki in July of 2000.  All BOCES, charter schools, and public school districts in NYS are affected by the legislation.  For full information about the Project SAVE legislation, click here.  

We offer this two-hour course required for NYS school certification as well as the Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment course.  Individuals may register for one or both courses, with a reduced rate available for the combined workshops.  All workshops will be held at the Capital Region BOCES-School Support Services Division conference room.

Course Schedule: 

7/14/08 (10-12 noon) * Immediately prior to the Mandated Reporter Child Abuse Training from 12:30-2:30

8/22/08 (12:30-2:30 pm) * Immediately prior to the Mandated Reporter Child Abuse Training from 10-12 noon

9/23/08 (3:30-5:30 pm) * Immediately prior to the Mandated Reporter Child Abuse Training from 6-8 pm

10/22/08 (6:00-8:00 pm) * Immediately following the Mandated Reporter Child Abuse Training from 3:30-5:30 pm

11/13/08 (3:30-5:30 pm) * Immediately prior to the Mandated Reporter Child Abuse Training from 6-8 pm

12/15/08 (6:00-8:00 pm) * Immediately following the Mandated Reporter Child Abuse Training from 3:30-5:30 pm

• Registration fee is $40 per participant (registration fee is $70 for both Violence Prevention and Identification and Reporting of Child Abuse and Maltreatment).  
• A check or money order can be made out to Capital Region BOCES.  Please do not send cash.  Completed registration form and fee must be submitted to the Student Support Services Center (address above).  For confirmation go to http://sssc.capregboces.org/vpconfirm.htm
• A certificate of completion will be provided to participants at the end of the class.  **Participants may bring food to the trainings due to the timeframe.
